Commander Rorke Denver

US Navy
Founder, Ever Onward

Commander Rorke T. Denver is an American actor, author, and former United States Navy SEAL Commander. Most known for his role as Lieutenant Rorke in the 2012 film Act of Valor, Denver has served in various Navy commands, ran every phase of the US Navy SEAL training program, and led special operations missions in the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and other global hot spots. He is a graduate of Syracuse University and holds a Master’s in Global Business Leadership from the University of San Diego.

As the SEAL officer aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard, Denver led his group’s response to the uprising in the Ivory Coast nation of Liberia, launching advanced-force operations and helping to get US Marines safely ashore. In 2006, Denver led BRAVO Platoon, SEAL Team THREE, in Iraq’s Al Anbar Province in one of the most combat-heavy deployments of any regular SEAL team since Vietnam. Stationed in Habbaniya, his team conducted over 200 missions during their deployment. Denver’s team has been widely credited with propelling the “Tribal Awakening” that helped to neutralize Iraq’s insurgency at that time. Denver was awarded the Bronze Star with “V” for valorous action in combat. After returning to the United States, Denver served as the flag lieutenant to Admiral Joseph Maguire, commanding officer of Naval Special Warfare, traveling to Afghanistan and briefing Congress on SEAL operations.

He authored New York Times bestseller, Damn Few: Making the Modern SEAL Warrior, which recounts his personal story and the demanding SEAL training program. In his second book, Worth Dying For: A Navy SEAL’s Call to a Nation, Rorke tackles the questions that have emerged about America’s past decade at war—what makes a hero, why we fight, and what does it do to us?

Denver is the founder of Ever Onward, a new leadership brand designed to use Navy SEAL principles to call leaders to take action and perform at their highest levels. He is a highly-sought-after speaker to major companies and organizations, and currently serves on Spirit of America’s Advisory Board.

He and his family reside in central Colorado. Spirit of America is honored to have Denver as an Advisory Board member.
