Perspectives from the field: Serving in and out of uniform

Josh Brandon served as an Army infantry officer for 10 years and completed three tours in Iraq. Josh believes that service and sacrifice are an obligation of every American. Service takes many different forms, from local organizers making their community a better place to diplomats and soldiers defending our interests abroad. Josh happened to serve both in and out of a uniform.

During his time in service, Josh experienced being faced with a problem and not having the resources to bring to bear against that problem. As Spirit of America’s Regional Director for Asia-Pacific, Josh is now in the unique position to harness the power of US private citizens to assist our nation’s troops and diplomats in solving critical problems in an increasingly complex and dynamic world.
