Help us support displaced Armenian families
In the rural district of Chambarak, Armenia, thousands of Armenians displaced by the 2023 hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh are trying to start new lives, a task made more difficult by limited resources and weather conditions.
Spirit of America is assisting 200 displaced families with critically needed firewood, food, household items, and school supplies. With your help, these families can settle into their new lives with dignity and hope.
In September 2023, following the latest outbreak of violence in a decades-long conflict surrounding the region of Nagorno-Karabakh, more than 100,00 Armenians, including 30,000 children, fled their homes, leaving behind centuries of history and tradition. This ongoing conflict threatens to destabilize the already intricate geopolitics of the Caucasus region. Right now, there is no viable pathway for a safe return for these displaced families. This issue has received very little international attention and, therefore, assistance.
In cooperation with the US Embassy in Armenia, we partnered with Mission Armenia NGO to assist families who, due to circumstances beyond their control, relocated to rural areas that do not benefit from the same level of attention as urban areas.
With Mission Armenia NGO, we will provide these families with basic household necessities, foodstuffs, school supplies, and, for remote households, firewood to get them through the harsh winter.
Since Spirit of America’s founding in 2003, we have worked with displaced populations from Ukraine to Afghanistan. Supporting those fleeing conflict and helping them move on with their lives is among our most consequential work.
With your generosity, we can help 200 Armenian families move forward and improve their lives.
