As Director of Partnerships, Colin Deschamps is responsible for strengthening and expanding Spirit of America’s relationships with donors and other strategic partners. With experience in the private, public and non-profit sectors, Colin has spent his career advocating for the role that every American can play in promoting democracy and freedom overseas.

Over the course of 8 years of public service with the US Agency for International Development, Colin managed programs in support of positive political transitions in Afghanistan, Colombia, Mali, Niger, South Sudan and Syria. Colin has also served on the executive team of a major food importer, with the World Bank and on staff with several local and international NGOs. His areas of expertise include peace processes, countering extremism, democratic transitions and humanitarian emergencies.

A native Virginian, Colin holds a master’s degree in civil engineering from Virginia Tech. He has called five continents home and currently lives in the NYC area.
