Grant Peehler joined Spirit of America in April 2022 as a Regional Program Manager for Europe. Before joining Spirit of America, he served for ten years in the military with the United States Marine Corps.

Deployed across Europe as a Civil Affairs team leader, Grant worked hand-in-hand with military allies and local partners on the ground to link tactical military objectives to strategic initiatives. Stationed overseas, he worked alongside the Department of State, NATO, NGOs, and the United Nations to expand military partnerships with organizations across the international community, building relations and whole of government cooperation through diplomacy and strategic communications. At Special Operations Command, he developed concepts to integrate information operations at SOF units to adapt to shifts in national security policy and leverage soft power potential.

Grant was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. There he studied Psychology and Sociology at SUNY University at Buffalo, while serving his community as a high school social studies teacher and a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service. He completed coursework to earn a master’s degree in education from Harvard University, and looks forward to a life of learning and continued service at Spirit of America.
