Senior Communications Manager, International Communications
Hannah Rubenstein, a senior communications leader with more than 16 years of experience developing strategic narratives and leading content and communications efforts for mission-driven organizations, joined Spirit of America as the senior communications manager, International Communications in January 2026.
Her work in international development spans sectors and geographies, with a focus on translating complex technical and policy issues into clear, compelling messaging that advances organizational goals.
Most recently, Hannah served as communications manager at Tetra Tech, where she led global communications strategies for large-scale, donor-funded energy programs supported by USAID, MCC, and other international partners. She oversaw content strategy and production for multimillion-dollar initiatives, advised senior leadership and government counterparts, and supported communications teams across more than a dozen countries.
Hannah began her career as a journalist, working with outlets including The Washington Post, Inter-Press Service, and Amnesty International. She is also the author of Wedlocked, a narrative nonfiction book used in college curricula to educate readers about the global practice of forced marriage.
She holds a master’s degree in journalism from New York University, a dual bachelor’s degree in English literature and anthropology from the University of Virginia, and has built a career at the intersection of strategy, storytelling, and social impact.
