Joshua Brandon
Regional Director – Asia-Pacific
Joshua Brandon joined Spirit of America in January 2019 as the Middle East Project Manager. Since 2021, he has served as the Asia-Pacific Regional director, managing diverse and innovative programs in support of US and partner country government and civil society entrepreneurs across the region.
Before joining Spirit of America, he served as a US Army infantry officer, including two Iraq tours with the 101st Airborne Division and one with the 3-2 Stryker Brigade. He was awarded the Silver Star and two Bronze Stars with valor devices during these tours.
After ten years of service, Joshua transitioned from the Army to the Sierra Club, where he worked on veteran mental health and conservation issues. He later left the club to work as an independent consultant in diverse fields, including veteran mental health research at the University of Washington, conservation advocacy, tactical mission command training, and sponsored athlete for Outdoor Research.
Joshua earned a bachelor’s in history from the Citadel and both a master’s degree in international affairs and an Executive MBA from the University of Washington.
