Empower the next generation of peace leaders through sports
Children are vital to building peace and leading change for future generations. With your help, Spirit of America can build resiliency in youth populations and promote cohesion across diverse communities as Nigeria returns to a new normal, post-COVID.
Nigeria is Africa’s most populous country with over 200 million people. It is also one of the most diverse, with more than 250 ethnic groups. Since its return to democracy in 1999, Nigeria has made progress in strengthening government institutions, fighting corruption, and addressing the radicalization of youth. However, there is still a lot of work left to do.
Spirit of America, in cooperation with the US Department of State, Football for Peace, and DT Institute, is establishing a soccer program that will foster a sense of togetherness that transcends current divides. The weeklong program will break down divisions and build a team spirit in youth across diverse communities.
Youth are the hope for change. Spirit of America needs your help to give the next generation of peace leaders a chance to succeed.
