SoA Supports University of Dohuk

Over the last six months, SoA has been working with the U.S. Consulate in Erbil to support the peace education and social cohesion efforts of the Center for Peace and Conflict Resolution Studies at the University of Dohuk (UoD). To accomplish its mission, the Center organizes three-day peace education workshops at high schools, universities, community centers, and refugee camps throughout the Dohuk region.
SoA provided the Center with portable projectors, and we funded the transportation cost for UoD students to attend peace education workshops. Last week, SoA Middle East manager, Zack Bazzi, traveled to Dohuk to sit in on one of these workshops. He’ll be writing more about his experience over the next few days.
We look forward to continuing this productive collaboration with the University of Dohuk and the U.S. Consulate in Erbil and to advance the cause of stability and social cohesion in throughout the Kurdistan region.
