Supporting Army efforts to defeat the Islamic State in Mosul
Dear Supporters,
The project I want to share with you today is especially important to me. It involves the Iraqi Counter Terrorism Service (CTS), a group with whom I worked closely when I was commander of a Special Forces detachment in Iraq not long ago. I understand the need to support their safety and success firsthand, especially as they strive to defeat the Islamic State.
This past October, the Iraqi government launched its campaign to retake Mosul, the third largest city in Iraq, from ISIS. Since the beginning of the campaign, gains have been made to liberate Mosul. But this operation has been hugely costly to the elite members of CTS who have led the effort. The need for first aid kits, tourniquets, and mine detection equipment has skyrocketed as our Iraqi partners take on a city laden with improvised explosive devices.
With your help, we can provide the lifesaving supplies American Special Operations advisors have identified as critical to our Iraqi partners’ continued success. Please consider making a donation that will assuredly save lives and help defeat ISIS in Mosul.
I look forward to updating you more about Spirit of America’s work in the Middle East and North Africa. Thank you for your support.
Till next time,
Gabe LaMois
Project Manager, Middle East and North Africa
