Army and SoA improve healthcare for Georgian women
Dear supporters,
Spirit of America just completed a project in the country of Georgia where we partnered with a US Army Civil Affairs team to renovate a women’s clinic. This project met a critical need for impoverished communities affected by the Russian invasion and occupation of parts of Georgia since 2008.
When the Army team told me the clinic desperately needed renovations in order to provide medical care for local women and girls, Spirit of America responded quickly. Updates to the clinic included new examination rooms, new plumbing, secure and energy-efficient windows and doors, and electrical wiring to allow for the installation of new medical equipment.
The facility is now the only health provider in the region that offers a full range of free gynecological health services for women who would otherwise not be able to afford care. This project met a critical public health need and strengthened the relationship between the US Embassy and this important community.
Our donors allow Spirit of America to provide fast, flexible assistance to projects, like this one, that are a priority for US teams on the ground. Thank you for your support!
