An SoA veteran’s perspective on service

Happy Veterans Day,

All of us at Spirit of America would like to express our profound gratitude to all the men and women who have served – and continue to serve – this great country. Thank you.

Like all of Spirit of America’s field team, I am a veteran. I served in the Army, including two tours in Iraq. Veterans Day and the divisiveness of the recent election led me to contemplate the true meaning of service. In my view, these tumultuous times should drive all of us, military and civilian alike, to redouble our efforts to serve our country and one another.

I wrote a Veterans Day article on this subject for the Seattle Times. You can read it here.
