D-Day 80th anniversary talk featuring Alex Kershaw

Spirit of America was joined by Alex Kershaw, New York Times best-selling author and resident historian for Friends of the National World War II Memorial, for a special 30-minute talk honoring the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

In conversation with Spirit of America’s CEO Jim Hake, Kershaw discussed the rich historical lessons and personal stories from WWII as they apply today, the consequences of today’s war in Ukraine, and the essential role of America in the world.

Educated at Oxford University, Kershaw is the widely acclaimed, New York Times best-selling author of 12 books, including The Longest Winter, The Bedford Boys, The First Wave, The Liberator, Against All Odds, and most recently, Patton’s Prayer. He is also the resident historian for Friends of the National World War II Memorial.
