Your Impact
With the help of our donors, Spirit of America spent $26,290 to purchase 1,000 winter jackets and medical supplies to treat 4,000 Iraqis in need.

Thanks to a relentless campaign by Iraqi and US troops, ISIS has lost all the territories that it once ruled over across Iraq. The terrorist group no longer instills the same fear and foreboding in the Iraqi population who for years bore the brunt of its brutality. Lest these hard-earned gains be surrendered, the next phase of operations is incredibly crucial, as the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS wins battles but fails to secure a long-lasting peace. US Navy SEALs, along with their Iraqi counterparts, are working diligently in Al Anbar province, along the Syrian border, to ensure all the ingredients for enduring stability are in place.
The key to long-term success is to work with local partners and help secure the population’s basic needs. In western Iraq, where ISIS cells are either dormant or carrying out terrorist activities, this means teaming up with the tribes to understand and address the needs of the Sunni population. Doing so is the best way to ensure ISIS cannot make a return.
Recently, the US command in the region reached out to SoA to identify local humanitarian needs: 1,000 winter jackets for children and basic medical supplies to treat trauma. With winter in full swing and many communities still reeling from recent fighting, clothing and medical care are urgently needed, especially if the Iraqi government is to demonstrate its commitment to rebuilding the region and taking care of its population.
Your support at this pivotal time can help our SEALs and their Iraqi partners realize lasting stability in the region.
