Help the US Army save lives and alleviate suffering
The intense fighting between the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and ISIS-affiliated groups has forced hundreds of families on the island of Mindanao in the southern Philippines to flee their homes. These families, now housed in evacuation centers, have been left with little to nothing and now depend on a dwindling supply of food provided by the local government.
A US Army team working alongside the Armed Forces of the Philippines to address these issues identified this critical need to Spirit of America. Teaming up with impl. project, a US NGO that is organizing resiliency cooperatives and women’s livelihood programs in the area, SoA will provide enough food for 320 families. The delivery will be a joint effort between the AFP, US Army team, impl. project, and local government municipalities to address this growing crisis.
This donation not only meets a critical need for food, but it proves to the community that the Armed Forces of the Philippines is responsive to their needs while reinforcing US forces’ commitment to the enduring partnership between our two nations. With your help, SoA can provide enough food to feed over 1,600 people, filling the gap to avert a crisis until government programs can step in.
