Help the US Embassy in Tajikistan facilitate STEAM education

This project is fully funded. Thank you!

Your Impact

All across the world, access to education is paramount for the future development of youth. This is especially true in Tajikistan, a developing country in Central Asia; students are often able to study the fundamentals of science and technology, but rarely do they have the tools to apply learned skills hands-on. Additionally, the mountainous terrain isolates many communities and students, further limiting access to more advanced educational opportunities and resources.

Tajik students apply knowledge during a STEAM workshop organized by the US Embassy in Dushanbe.

To meet the demand for greater youth learning opportunities, the US Embassy in Tajikistan is organizing a nationwide Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) workshop and fair. The Embassy is bringing 21 young Tajiks interested in STEAM from across the country to participate in a three-day workshop to learn about web development and internet technology instruction from information technology experts. They will also be taught how to build their own computer and will bring the computer back to one of eight American spaces in their own community for others to use. Following the workshop, the Embassy will also organize a STEAM fair bringing the participants as well as other young inventors from across the country to show off their works. The Embassy will also invite Tajik experts in STEAM fields who will give presentations and interact with the participants. Spirit of America is providing computer equipment and funds to aid this initiative.

Your generosity can help us facilitate greater educational opportunities and continue strong US relationships with partners in Tajikistan and across Central Asia.
