As fighting continues in the country’s east, the Ukrainian Army is working hard to defend their homeland. Over the last three years, Ukrainian forces, including Ukrainian Army soldiers, have been engaged in a bloody battle with Russian-backed insurgents. The only open armed conflict in Europe has fallen out of the spotlight in America but remains strategically important to the US and our European allies. This is all too real for the Ukrainian soldiers who are barraged by machine gun and artillery fire by Russian-backed forces.

A group of elite Ukrainian soldiers will soon graduate from a US-run training course, prepared to fight and survive on the front lines. The rigorous, multi-month training course in Ukraine’s difficult terrain has worn out the soldiers’ boots, socks, gloves, and other essential cold weather gear. The resource-strapped Ukrainian military does not have the additional funds in their budget to replace the gear these soldiers will soon require as they head for the frontlines. The US Army trainers, also unable to fill this need, reached out to Spirit of America for assistance in responding to this critical deficiency.

With your help, Spirit of America will provide boots, socks, waterproof jackets, gloves, and more to help these new elite soldiers fight for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and survival of Ukraine.
