A letter from Ambassador William B. Taylor
In my 50-year career serving our nation, I was US Ambassador to Ukraine and served as an infantry platoon leader and combat company commander in the US Army in Vietnam and Germany.
Today, brave Ukrainian soldiers are fighting the greatest battle for freedom since WWII. But the Ukrainian military struggles to provide much of the essential gear they need to protect themselves against a ruthless Russian invasion. For freedom to win and authoritarian aggression to end, Ukraine must win. To help Ukraine win, I support Spirit of America and its ability to be a difference-maker to end this terrible war on Ukrainian terms.
During a visit, a Ukrainian Special Operations Forces soldier told the Spirit of America team, “Nobody has ever had such an enemy. We are protecting our families and children. We have no other choice. We know why we are fighting.”

Like you, I reject the idea that the Russians can terrorize and invade their neighbors. Like you, I am outraged when I see the atrocities Russians are inflicting on Ukrainians. And like you, I want to support Ukrainians because they deserve the same independence that you and I have in America.
We must help Ukraine win. I believe Ukraine and freedom will prevail with the help of the United States and Spirit of America supporters like you.
