Help Army stop flow of illicit weapons in West Africa
Dear supporters,
In January of 2016 gunmen linked to al-Qaeda stormed a hotel and restaurant and murdered 30 people in Ougadougou. This was the deadliest of the recent terrorist attacks in Burkina Faso where extremist incidents are on the rise.
As violent extremism spills across the border from Mali, the Burkinabé military, though skilled and well-organized, are ill-equipped to respond. A US army team working with the Burkinabé military along the northern border has identified the need for enhanced search capabilities. Providing our partner forces with metal detectors will help stop terrorist groups from smuggling weapons and explosives across the border. Preventing the further spread of extremism across West Africa and defeating the networks that already exist are critical to the US and our partners. These groups regularly seek to attack US and western targets, have global ambitions, and further destabilize an already volatile region.
this project our supporters can directly protect innocent citizens and enhance regional security. Give now to impede the spread of terrorism in West Africa and help protect US citizens and interests worldwide.
Thank you,
Chris VJ
