Dear supporters, Over the past four months, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has been fighting to retake the city of Marawi from ISIS-affiliated fighters who seized control of the city in May. To date, more than 100 AFP service members, at least 400 terrorists, and more than 30 civilians have been killed. A US Marine Corps team advising and assisting the AFP on the ground identified a need for supplies at the aid stations that have been overwhelmed by wounded servicemen and internally displaced persons. So far, over 200,000 people have been displaced by the fighting and more than 500 AFP servicemen have been wounded in action. SoA has provided more than 800 sleeping mats and blankets for displaced families. At frontline AFP trauma centers, SoA delivered critical medical supplies to treat the wounded.
