Russia. SoA in Ukraine, Wall Street Journal coverage

Greetings, Last summer, when General Joe Dunford, now Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said, “Russia is the greatest threat to our national security” Spirit of America sprang into action to see how we could help. Within weeks we were on the ground meeting with US troops and diplomats who are dealing with the problems of Russian aggression and Russian propaganda. Here is how you can help.

Those meetings led to four SoA projects in Ukraine. Everything we are doing is in response to needs identified by American troops and diplomats, and in support of their difficult missions. Here is a WSJ video on Army-FM – an initiative to counter Russian propaganda on the front lines in Ukraine. Print As The Journal notes: the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, Geoffrey Pyatt, calls the information war in eastern Ukraine part of a larger struggle. “The point of this Russian propaganda is not to win the argument and it is certainly not to illuminate the truth,” he said. “It is to confuse. It is part of their arsenal.” You can help here. Spirit of America is mentioned in another story in The Journal about the search for a host for the Army-FM morning show. Read it here. Help children and a music school on the front lines The Journal wrote about another Spirit of America project: helping a music school in the war zone of eastern Ukraine. Read the story here.

Most people don’t know that Russia started a war in Ukraine. More than 10,000 people have been killed. The music school provides shelter during attacks, brings humanity into the war zone and gives children hope and joy. But the school has been badly damaged by bombs and gunfire. SoA is helping with repairs to the roof and replacing broken windows. The total cost is $10,480. Please give here to help. Just back from Ukraine I just returned from Ukraine on Saturday. I was there to check on the progress of our projects. Army-FM is having a real impact on the front lines. I heard it being played on loudspeakers on bases, from radios in military vehicles and from mobile phones. In the project’s first phase, we provided three transmitters as a test to see if the Army-FM idea would work. It does. To expand the signal and reach all the key front line areas, we need to purchase five more transmitters. Each transmitter costs $15,375. You can give here and help us fight back against Russian propaganda. Here is some video I shot from when I was in Ukraine last week.
Please let me know if you have any questions. As always, thank you for your support. All the best, Jim Hake and the Spirit of America team
