ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Service members from the U.S. Army, Marine Corps and Air Force (known as Task Force Rise) have been deployed to Guatemala to train for natural disaster assistance as part of SOUTHCOM’s Beyond the Horizon exercise. Task Force Rise members built schools and clinics, and conducted five medical care events to provide a tangible benefit to the people of Guatemala.

The mission of Task Force Rise included the construction of a technical school with local partners like The National Institute of Diversified Education (INED). INED is a vocational school in Huehuetenango, Guatemala that provides education to Guatemalan youth to assist them in find employment and strengthen Guatemala’s economy.

The students attending training to become automotive mechanics at INED currently only have textbooks to learn from. They need professional auto mechanic equipment, for hands-on training, to allow them to master the skills required to succeed in the workforce.

With your support, Spirit of America is providing the automotive mechanic equipment Task Force Rise needs to further assist the students at Los Olivos Technical school.

100% of your gift will be used to purchase what is needed for this project. Donations in excess of the project's needs will be offered a refund.
